The
Plight of 1st LT Jennifer Dyer By: Jack Dalton On
Oct. 22nd I wrote an article detailing the plight of 1st
Lt Jennifer Dyer. In the article I articulated how she was called back to active
duty at least 6 months after she had resigned her commission. Also explained was
what happened to her after she was sent to Jennifer
is still listed as AWOL as she refused, and rightly so, to return to Army gave her so she could go home and “get over it.” From day one Jennifer had requested a compassionate transfer which the Army consistently denied. It was not until what happened to her hit over 90 national print newspapers did the Army finally say that she did not have to return to Camp Shelby but could report to Fort Dix, N.J—too little too late on the part of the Army. However, at this point in time after what the Army has heaped upon her, she will not report to any base, period. The Army released a press release a week ago about this but what the Army left out of the release was a statement it made a couple of weeks earlier—that if Jennifer needed additional rape counseling that they, the Army, would ship her to the Eisenhower in-patient mental health treatment facility for an “undisclosed” length of time. Under these circumstances I would not be willing to return to any base and completely support her decision to hold firm. In the meantime the Article 32 hearing for 1st LT Michael Hall on charges of rape, conduct unbecoming an officer and adultery has been postponed until sometime in December. Fred Klepp, Jennifer’s attorney is working his tail off trying to get fair and just treatment for Jennifer by the Army which is treating her more like a mass murderer instead of the victim of a crime. And all the while the bills for legal fees are mounting and mounting. Right now Jennifer is facing $20,000 in legal fees, money she does not have at all. If you would like to donate something to help off set her legal fees there are two ways you may donate. One is thru this link at The Project for the Old American Century http://oldamericancentury.org/jennifer.htm Additionally, for those that are not comfortable using pay-pal, the address for Fred Klepp, Jennifer’s attorney, is located there as well. Send checks direct to Klepp with a note it is for Jennifer’s legal fees. I am in contact with him on a daily basis so I will know day to day how much he has received. That way no more than is needed to cover her legal fees will not be collected. |
