$1B Given to Faith-Based groups in 2003 Faith-Based groups don't have to have the same qualifications for doing business with the government; they aren't held open to auditing; they are allowed to discriminate on hiring (with federal dollars) based on religion. In addition, there is nothing that makes the religious groups accountable for the money they spent. They don't have to show any statistics. Anyone else accepting government money has to do these things. 1-3
